Slovenia is the most expensive country in this region for ground transport, so it is worth planning ahead.

The airport is compact and easy to navigate - it handles fewer than two million passengers a year. Arrivals take you straight out to the bus stop and taxi rank, both visible from the exit.

Arriva Bus (Line 28G)

The Arriva line 28G is the most affordable option for individuals and couples travelling light, with a direct connection to Ljubljana’s main bus station (Avtobusna postaja Ljubljana).

Schedules as of 2026: Buses run throughout the day, roughly every 30–60 minutes, with reduced frequency early morning and late evening. The timetable is available on the Arriva Slovenia website and at the airport bus stop. Not all services run on the same schedule on weekends.

Ljubljana Bus Station is centrally located, adjacent to the main train station (Ljubljana Postaja). The old town is approximately a 15-minute walk south, or a short bus or taxi ride.

Note: The bus makes intermediate stops in villages between Brnik and Ljubljana, which accounts for the longer journey time compared to a taxi.

Ljubljana Airport is a convenient arrival point for:

• Lake Bled (30 km north-east, 35–45 min by car): no direct bus from the airport - take the Arriva bus to Ljubljana and then a train or bus to Bled, or book a direct private transfer from SKP for around €40–50.
• Piran / Portorož (120 km south-west, 1.5 hrs): a change in Ljubljana is necessary by public transport. Private transfer direct from Brnik is available.

Getting to the Airport for Departure
